This is Day three
First off, here is a Health Inventory you need to do before we get going on to today.
Secondly, here is an online activity we'll do after we take up the homework.
In this activity you will explore advertising techniques and evaluate the ads and the fitness products themselves.
1. Find an online ad for a fitness centre, a program for “rock hard” abs or bulging biceps, or something along those lines that you are interested in (or want to focus on.... if you don't have anything in mind, look at the TRX.
or this one:
2. What product is being advertised? What are the claims being made? What are the statements describing the product’s advantages.
3. What does this product cost? Does the cost seem reasonable or inflated?
4. Who is the spokesperson for the product? Does this lend any credibility to the claims
5. Are there any scientific studies, medical professionals, or fitness experts endorse this product? Do these studies add any credibility to the claims?
6. Are there any celebrities who endorse this product? What effect does the celebrity’s endorsement have on the product’s credibility?
7. Are there any “People on the street” who test out the product on camera? What effect does the celebrity’s endorsement have on the product’s credibility?
8. Are there any YouTube clips of people using the product? What are some of the comments (if any) in the comment section of the video? Are they generally positive or negative?
9. Are there any tweets about this product?
10. Would you buy this product? Explain why or why not.

OK, Day 2
I got this on my email today:
This is going rather nicely, I must say. We did some work from the textbook today - we have to, every once in a while.
We'll do less and less as the module wears on, but we have to start with the basics. Page 9 #2,3,4,5 were assigned. I'm hoping that the way we're doing things are a lot better than what you are used to in a regular school. We'll keep doing that.
After break, we did a smidgen more reading, assigning pg 16 #1,3,4 and 8. Becuase I didn't want you to be bored or anything, I asked you to get on the Family Health History link on the right. Or here, too.
